Lauren Rose Beck is a Melbourne based writer, director and producer. In 2020 Lauren was awarded production funding to create a documentary series for ABC’s  ‘Fresh Start’ Initiative. She was also selected as one of 6 national recipients of the AIDC Access Mentorship Prize in which she was mentored by Academy members Bridget Iken and Leo S. Chiang. Lauren went on to win the Judith Nelson Institute of Journalism ‘Asian Stories’ documentary prize as well as the coveted 2020 Beach House Pictures Internship in Singapore. 


Hailing from a family of performing artists, Lauren studied design before completing a Masters of Film and Television at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne. A bilingual creator, Lauren has worked extensively in America to create documentary, art and television projects. As the producer for Sesame Street’s ‘H is for Home’ and ‘J is for Jump’, Lauren cast children in over 14 countries and helped to create the very first Cuban content for Sesame Street. Lauren is passionate about stories with a message of social justice.
